Kangin: So I'm a guy, right? When I was in high school, I received a lot of confessions from guys. (Note: When he says confessions, he means love confessions, like "OMG I really like you~" letter in your shoe locker, plot of really cheesy girl manhwa type of thing.)
*crowd goes wow*
Kangin: So when I was in high school, I was training to be in Super Junior. I would stay up really late at night practicing, so when I was at school, I would get really sleepy during lunch. So I wouldn't eat lunch, I would just sleep.
Kangin: And there was this male student that asked me "Hey, who are you?" And then I was like "Who are you?"
Kangin: And then he said that he was my sunbae and he was a third year. (Note: Sunbae means literally upperclassman. High school is three years in Korea, so that means this guy was basically a senior.)
Kangin:So I said "Oh, okay." And my sunbae said, "I just wanted to see your face, that's all." and he went off.
Kangin: So then for the next month, he would come at lunch just to see my face. I would say "Hyung, I'm really happy to see you." But when I would just lie there, sleeping, and then all of a sudden, I would open my eyes and he would be staring at me, as if I were his baby or his child, you know, cutely.
Female Host: You mean adoringly?
Kangin:: Yeah, like that. So later, I told myself, I have to be careful around him. So I was. But then one day after practice, when I arrived at my house, he was in front of the door, waiting. He was waiting in front my house gate, holding something.
Kangin:: I told myself that this was something serious. Even though he's my hyung, I was going to have to speak with him.
Yoo Jae Yook: You'd have to say it straight to hyung-neem, right?
Kangin:: Yes, exactly. But at the same time, I was practicing to become a gasoo and music was a really big part of it, you know. So the hyung asked me "What are you doing coming home so late?"
Female Host: Why are you coming so late? *giggle* (HAHAHAHAHA)
Kangin:: So I said, "Hyung, I won't mince my words, I'll just be straight with you." And my hyung said "Why?"
Kangin:: So I said "Hyung, we're not in a man-liking man relationship." (Basically, I'm not gay.)
Kangin:: And there were tears in his eyes and he said "I'm sorry, I just wanted to give you a present. I got you a CD player." And then he gave it to me. And you want to be a gasoo, really want to be a gasoo. It's something you need." I really needed it!
Female Host: You were moved, weren't you?
Kangin: And I saw the brand and it was a really good brand? So after 10 seconds passed, I said "Even tho I am embarassed when men's eyes are on me, I don't really hate you, hyung~" (Note that Kangin says this really coyly so it can be interpreted as flirting.)
*crowd is like cackling*
Kangin: So he gave me the CD player saying "Please use it well~" So then everyone at school heard about it and they thought that we were dating. So seriously, I took the CD player and returned it to him to end our relationship.
Kangin: But you know, everyone at school just thought that meant we were fighting~ But really, that wasn't the only one, I had a lot of confessions.
Someone: Wow, that's amazing.
Kangin: No, really, it was amazing.
Yoo Jae Suk: So did a lot of female students confess to you as well?
Kangin: I didn't get any confessions from girls, they had heard that I was dating guys, so they figured it was just a waste. So it's funny how it worked out.
